    Hi LearnPress Support,

In February, when I started using LearnPress, I tested all the Paypal and emails to users functionalities and they were all working well and set on my site. However, today, when I do a test using Paypal, I discovered the following issues:

    — After a user make a successful payment on Paypal, the course did not allow the student to auto start even though my settings have been set to “students get started courses immediately after successful purchased”. At the order summary page, when the student click on the order number, they are taken to the course description page. But instead of “continue”, the button still show “buy now”.

Please kindly look into this issue.

    Regards

    Thank you.

I am using latest version of LearnPress plugin 4.1.6.8.

    Hi,

When you get the payment on PayPal, please visit to the LearnPress -> Order then check the status of the order and be sure the order has the status is completed.
Do you use PayPal Standard or PayPal Express?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Whenever there is successful payment received from PayPal, the Order status is shown as “Pending”. This should NOT be the case because under the LearnPress Course settings, I have enabled “students get started courses immediately after successful purchase”. Previously, when a student successfully make a payment, the Order status is automatically set as “Completed”. But now it’s set as “Pending” and I need to manually set it to “Completed”. This means the “Auto Start” feature is not working.

In the LearnPress Payment>PayPal settings, there’s only a field for me to place my PayPal email account. There is no settings to choose PayPal Standard or PayPal Express ( I see such option in WooCommerce Plugin but I am not using WooCommerce here). I am unable to advise whether it is PayPal standard or express. How to check that?

    Regards.

I have just discovered that in the LEarnPress PayPal setting, it’s mentioned PayPal standard.

Any solution to solve the Auto Start not working problem?

    Hi,

This is typically due to IPN communication issues between PayPal and your site. The Woocommerce team have a whole section in the documentation on how to check for and debug IPN issues on your site using PayPal Standard and WooCommerce: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-standard/#section-23
It will the same with another payment system use PayPal.
You can read some related topic here:

    Dear brianvu-tp,

Since you belong to the Plugin Support, I hope you have realised by now that there is truly a bug on the LearnPress PayPal function. My site was working well for months with my PayPal account and suddenly now students cannot auto start the courses after payment. It is not any IPN setting in my PayPal account. If you look at the recent forum topics for LearnPress plugin, you would have noticed that there are many users reporting that the orders are staying at “pending” status.

Would truly, truly, appreciate you can escalate the problem to LearnPress Plugin development team for them to rectify the problem.

    Regards
