I have a small PHP memory limit on my server, so when I try to upload a large image, I get the error “Error : Exceed Memory limit. Require : ___Mbyte”. When I upload the same file from the Nextgen Dashboard, the file successfully uploads, but a thumbnail is not generated. However, if I select the option “Scale images to max width 800px or max height 600px,” the file is uploaded and thumbnail created. I tried setting Nextgen’s settings to automatically scale down all uploads, but I still get the error message. Is there a way that Nextgen public uploader can automatically scale down images?

Might be a case of the NGG native plugin doing some extra bits that the original authors for this plugin didn’t notice or account for. Hopefully in a future release, which is kind of hedged on how NGG core takes care of version 2.0. Huge release there and lots of problems so far.
