• Hi Phoenix,

Thank you for creating Phoenix Media Rename. Since the dawn of WordPress, I’ve downloaded, reuploaded, and set up a redirect from old to new. The ability to rename files inline with the media folder will be a huge timesaver for me.

    A couple of questions:

    (1) If I change a filename, do I need to set up a redirect?
    (2) Will images that are currently embedded in posts still load / be unaffected?

    Thanks,
    Will

    Hi @ortonom,
every content present in standard database table (wp_posts and wp_postmeta) will be updated by Phoenix Media Rename, you will need to create a redirection only if you use some plugin that write in non-standard tables (there are a lot out there), in this case you can also tell me which plugin you are using and I will try to update also the custom tables.

If you want to stay safe, create a new page, add some media to it then rename the media to see if everything is running fine without risks for your public pages.

    C.
