• If you take a look at our Facebook page, you’ll see that it’s the same image being used for every single story. Now, if you go look at our BlueSky account, you’ll notice the same stories, but the actual featured image photo is being used.

    IMHO, your plugin needs to be adjusted to use the featured image whenever possible and should only use the main site image when a featured image is not available.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

    The Facebook thumbnail is generated from the Open Graph tags on your site, which are being inserted by the Yoast SEO plugin. Currently, the tag is set to the default banner:

    <meta property="og:image" content="https://hogville.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/OPTIMIZED-Hogville-Banner.png" />

    This is why the thumbnail appears incorrectly on Facebook.

    To resolve this:

    1. Configure Yoast SEO to set the featured image as the og:image tag.
    2. Alternatively, disable Yoast SEO’s Open Graph tag insertion and enable it from the Facebook settings page of WP2Social Auto Publish. This will always prioritize the featured image. If no featured image is set, it will default to the first image in the post content.

    Note: This tag is used only when the posting method is “link sharing.” If “image upload to app/timeline album” is used, the featured image will automatically be used instead.

    Hope this helps!

    Sorry, but that didn’t work. I ended up having to use @wendihihihi’s tip (second reply) from THIS thread. I’ll update with how that works.
