    Hello,

Thanks for keeping this great plugin updated and improved.
There is something that never worked correctly with previous site, is kind of upsetting and seems to be worsening with the new site: the timeout of current session at your website, or the auto-logout procedure.

I don’t well understand why, when you are logged in, after some time (always less than 24 hours) you are not able to refresh your sites unless you logout and login back again? What is upsetting is that there is no sign of login screen, unless you manually logout first.

Isn’t possible to keep sessions for longer and then, when the session expires, simply get the login page automatically, as in WP for instance?

Is this a known issue or is it just my account?

    Thanks.

  • Hey John,

I actually have time scheduled in for tomorrow to re-implement the “remember me” functionality.

We unfortunately had to disable this functionality a little while ago as we have some power users that require special security measures.

I will update this ticket as soon as the functionality has been re-implemented for all normal users.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks Jeramy, but as far as I remember this never worked correctly also at previous site.

In fact the problem was and still is that you are never “normally” logged out of your session unless you try to refresh sites and then you see they don’t. You then realize that your session expired and you have to manually logout for being able to login again. In other words: your session has expired but you are not logged out.

If I’m not wrong, the normal procedure would be that the system brings up the login screen automatically when your session expires, isn’t it? In any case, the session duration seems to be extremely short (less than 24h) if you compare with normal WP sessions.

Hope my explanations are clear enough…

    Hey John,

    Thanks for the explanation.
At the moment I believe it is linked to your current session, so if you close the browser it should also end the session.

At any rate I will be ensuring that it doesn’t have this same persistent login issue that the previous version encountered.

    Kind Regards,

    Hey John,

I have returned the “remember me” functionality to the login form.

There is a chance that if you leave the page open for a very long time, eg a couple of days without refreshing, that some tokens may expire. If this happens you should get a message telling you to refresh the page; which will fix the issue.

Please let me know if you have any problems.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Jeramy,

I last logged in with “remember me” checked and “refreshed all sites” about 14 hours ago and just tried again right now.

Got this message: Error: ERROR Nonce is incorrect
Refreshed the page and everything seems to be working fine again.

Will let you know if something goes wrong later on.

    Many thanks!
