    Hi!

Go to the theme’s options and configure it to display the full text of posts. This way you will disable the use of excerpts made by the theme itself, and you will let Auto Limit Posts undertake this job.

@thefreewindows – Thank you very much for your reply. I was able to resolve the issue by deactivating a plugin that caused an old excerpts plugin (not Auto Limit Posts) to malfunction. My blog now has the excerpts I want using that old plugin.

I am sorry to say that I still can’t make Auto Limit Posts (ALP) work even after I removed the plugin that caused the trouble with my old excerpts plugin. I don’t know what’s causing ALP not to work with the Origin Theme that I am using in my blog.

Just checked if there is an incompatibility with the Origin theme, and it works fine. There must be some conflicts with your other excerpts plugins. If you want to try Auto Limit Reloaded, then deactivate all your similar plugins, give it a try, and if you don’t like it, just deactivate it and use something else.

My suggestion is to give it a try, because it is superior than the one you use now, not because it is mine.

Please let me know if you need more help.

@thefreewindows – Again, thank you very much for taking time to help me. This is what I did to follow your advice. I have a relatively new blog that is also using Origin Theme at https://blog-edzee.rhcloud.com/ so I tested your plugin there and it worked except on the Sticky Post that still shows the auto-generated excerpt by the theme. You can see the issue if you will click the link to my blog now. I may decide to use it there.

My blog where ALP does not completely worked is an old one (more than 5 years old) and I have plenty of plugins installed in there. In testing ALP there, I am sure there is no other active excerpts plugin and as I said it doesn’t work. Again, I really wonder why is it so.

If you care to check, Origin’s built-in Pagination Links in my old blog’s Homepage (https://xicowner.jefmart.com/) also doesn’t work so I have to retain an old pagination plugin which is a duplication. I do not know programming so I also cannot make the built-in pagination links to work.

Sometimes the problem is simple, like clearing your browser’s and your blog’s cache after you deactivate a plugin and activate a new one. There also times when all those themes and plugins refuse to cooperate. This is why everything is updated all the time and new versions are released. If you deactivated similar plugins, cleared the blog’s cache, cleared the browser’s cache and the problem is still there, you have to keep going with the plugin that works for you. All the best!

Thanks for the advice. I will do them. I agree that this problem is now resolved because the Auto Limit Posts Reloaded really does its job in my other blog that uses the same Origin Theme.
