Auto Insert by Category Not Working

  • Great plugin btw!

    I’ve created a ‘Unit by Search’ which correctly brings back the relevant results based on my keyword. But I only want to display these results in posts that are in a certain category.

    So I ‘manage’ the auto insert selecting my ‘Unit by Search’ and select the the appropriate categories when i want it to display. But either the ads just display on every blog category, or they don’t display at all (if i set ‘Apply this criteria to ‘On’)?

    Any pointers? Thanks.

    Hi,

    There is a but with the auto-insert setting page that section names are not displayed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    You see two On / Off options there. The first one is for the criteria of where to display the selected units. The second one is for where not to display.

    So in your case, you want to

    1. Select On for the first one and Off for the second one.
    2. Then, under the first On/Off option, find Page Types and check Single Post.
    3. In the Post Types field, check Posts.
    4. Then, in the Taxonomies field, check your desired categories where the selected units should appear.

    Ahh i think i have it working now. There are 3 sections on the page for me – unnamed as you mentioned.

    At the bottom of the first section i have set it to On. At the bottom of the second section i have set it to Off. And in the third section I have defined the categories where i want it to display.

    Thanks again. I just need to check my inbox for the next PRO activation email now because i keep missing it (went to spam initially) and they keep expiring! ??
