    Hi there!

I’m currently evaluating Sign-Up Sheets, and am considering upgrading to the Pro option. However, I need to determine if it’ll meet a particular need we have.

I can tell from the features comparison that the Pro version allows for adding dates on specific items within a sheet, not just at the sheet level. I’ve also noticed that, when a date has passed, when using the [sign-up sheet] shortcode widget, the expired date will disappear from the list. Do tasks with expired dates also disappear task by task within a sign-up sheet when using the Pro version?

Please let me know if I need to further clarify my question. Thank you!

  • Hi Ryan,
Sheets utilizing task dates will display all tasks including expired tasks (users will not be able to signup for tasks that have expired), however, the entire sheet will disappear after all of the task dates have expired. Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks,

Thanks so much for the prompt reply! Do you think that feature might be in the development pipeline, by chance? At least being able to restrict people from signing up for expired tasks is helpful, though.

Also, do you have a best practice for linking to individual sign-up sheets? Right now, I’m using a method where I put the [sign-up sheet] shortcode on a page, and then use the “?sheet_id=#” addition to the URL leading to that page to create an inline link wherever I might need it. Is there possibly a more elegant way of linking to a sign-up sheet? We’re trying to build an experience that doesn’t solely rely on the built-in navigation of the shortcode widget itself.

    Thanks again!

    Ryan,
We will consider adding this to a future release but it wasn’t in the pipline. There are 2 different ways of displaying a specific sheet or a group of sheets on the pro version. You can enter the sheet id # within the shortcode [sign_up_sheet id=”1″] which will only display sheet ID #1 on the front-end. You can also create a category, assign a sheet or multiple sheets to that category and use the short code to display all sheets associated with that category [sign_up_sheet category_slug=”new_sheets”]. Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks,

    Ryan,
In addition, the pro version no longer needs to use the shortcode to view a specific sheet as URLs are automatically created. When editing a sheet, there is a “View Sheet” button which will bring you directly to that sheets specific page. You can also add a direct link to the Sheets URL anwhere you would like using the built in link functionality of the visual editor.
    Thanks,

Great, thank you for the information! This is very helpful.

I’ll let you know if I have any other questions, but that should cover it for now.

    Thanks again!
