    Custom post types should be picked up by the plugin and allowed for editing for the meta title and meta description. What theme are you using? There may be incompatibility issues (which you could determine by swapping the theme to something basic like 2012 to test)…

    In which case, perhaps you could ask the developers of the theme for patch.

    Hi,

    They are being detected in general.

    The problem is its not showing the custom content description field, on the default formats tab.

    see screeny -> https://oecms.com/shared/taz/IZAAoX.jpg

    however under the keywords default formats tab it is detecting it and showing. (just not description)

    In order to use the autogen feature, you have to replace {excerpt} with {excerpt::autogen} in the post description format.

    Then, check the SERPs after spidered to see the effects. The auto generated excerpts do not show up in the plugin for editing, but rather they create a rule for how and what is pulled in.

    yeah but what im saying is there’s no spot for me to specify {excerpt::autogen} for my custom post type as per the first link it doesnt seem to be detecting it?

    Try where it indicates in the post description format (which is the global), initially.

    Aside from that, have you tried swapping themes yet to test if the incident is theme/framework specific?

    The custom content items are defined as part of my custom themes functions.php so its hard to switch. I developed the theme.

    I cant see where the global option is you mention.

    Are you saying i should set the “Post Description Format” and it should apply to custom content items aswell?

    I thought it would be like in the keywords area, where it has detected the custom content type, and has added the applicable ” default values area” for my custom content type?
