    Hi there, I’m attempting to embed a video and it is not working. After updating my page it simply shows the url (not an active link). I’ve read the directions and searched for a resolution. It appears many users have had this problem. However, I don’t see a concrete resolution in the previous posts. Please help! Thanks. ??

  • I am having the same issue, but with the link showing up live.

    Code:

    [embed]https://youtu.be/-Wac5NRUhmU[/embed]

    @msrjames: Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    @tdesens: Please post your own topic.

    @tdesens : For that particular video, if you visit the page on YouTube, and hit the “Share” button underneath it, and then the “Embed” tab, you’ll see the message “Embedding disabled by request”.

    YouTube videos that have not been marked as available for embedding will not automatically embed into a WordPress post. This is not WordPress’s fault, if the video is not marked as allowing embedding on YouTube’s side, then YouTube does not return the necessary code to perform the embed. So WordPress falls back to just showing a link to the video instead.

    If this is your video, go to the YouTube publisher page and make the video available for embedding.

    I appreciate the response.That was 100% the issue and it is now solved!

    Thank you very much!
