Is there a cron job you would recommend running to be able to ‘delete’ previous schedule overrides to keep the schedule override admin page?

So for example on Monday at 01:00 I could run a cron job to delete all of the schedule overrides for the previous week. Leaving the upcoming ones intact.

What do you think? Could it be possible?

@astevens93 I hadn’t thought of that. Dumping the previous show overrides to return to the planned weekly schedule sounds like an idea worthy of implementation. It’s like you saved this core schedule and just need to erase the notes around the edges for the upcoming week. However, in PRO, we are going to build out the ability to plan a show for months or years at a time like you might see in radio station automation software. So, your idea would be moot once that happens. We have to think about how necessary it is against how much time it will take against whether we just leave it alone because you’ll be able to schedule a show for months and not just one week.

Let’s see what @majick thinks and we’ll see where it goes from here.

Thanks for the consideration @tonyzeoli. I’m not sure I would want it dumping all overrides, but somehow those historical ones that have passed. Therefore keeping any ‘upcoming’ ones.

The reason being is that we do many schedule overrides in any one week, and they keep in the schedule overrides admin page, creating quite a long list if you don’t clear it out every now and then!

Right, got it. Let me talk to Tony H. about this on our next call and see what we can do here. I didn’t think of all of the overrides sitting there in the admin list and how those need to be dealt with. It’s a use case I haven’t come across yet, so you bringing it up is telling us what can happen when there are a ton of overrides that are sitting there in the list.

I did reply here yesterday but it seems to have glitched as it has disappeared, I will reply on the Github issue instead and close this here.
