• Ok folks, I’m hoping you can help me with this…

My WP installation is for my net radio station. And each show we do has its own category (example: DJ Loco’s Sanitarium).

Is there a plugin that will automatically select the right category based on who is posting?

For example, say DJ Loco makes a post about his show that’s coming up. The plugin would automatically assign the category of DJ Loco’s Sanitarium to his post (of course, he could always select a different category if needed).

    Thanks!

  • I don’t know of one that does exactly that, but there may be.

There is a plugin that limits each Author to post in 1 category. So you could make all the matching categories, and assign each author to only be able to post in their category. If each of the DJ’s is an author writing on the blog. That might not work if the Admin is writing all the posts for the DJ’s.

Another thing to mention, you know each author can have an Author Archive, that works a lot like a category. It’s a ‘webpage’ that can show all posts By That Author, regardless of the Category.

That plugin would work, IF it allows one to assign more than 1 category. Aside from the DJs posting show notes, they also post in Special Events and DJ Discussion categories. So I need to limit each DJ to just 3 categories.

The Author Archive is an interesting idea though. Might have to add that to their Bio pages.
