Auto assign ‘Associated Group’ in ‘Group Docs’ not working

    Greetings! Happy New Year!

    I would like to report an issue with regards to the auto assign ‘Associated Group’ in ‘Group Docs’ because I have created a ‘Group Docs, ‘ but it did not automatically assign the ‘Associated Group’ for the newly created doc.

    Let me explain further the steps that I did so that you may also replicate it on your end. I go to a group then created a new ‘Doc,’ and it automatically assigns it to the group because its URL has a ‘Group’ parameter (https://yoursite.com/docs/create/?group=gone-in-60-seconds).

    Then I tried to click the ‘Create New Doc’ button in the newly created ‘Doc’ which is associated with a group, but it did not assign to that group automatically because its URL does not have a ‘Group’ parameter (https://yoursite.com/docs/create/).

    I will be patiently waiting for your kind reply.

    Hi Jasper-

    Your suggestion is an intriguing idea, but that’s not how it’s currently built. As is, the “create new doc” button is only modified when viewing a group’s document library.

    The main plugin author and I have talked about various ways to change the group docs behavior. If you want your group docs to really seem like part of the group, you might try this somewhat-experimental, not-guaranteed-to-work plugin Boone wrote: https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs-in-group
