Authors suddenly missing from posts

  • Hello, I’m hoping someone can shed some light on this issue I’m having.
    Suddenly, most of my authors for my blog are missing from the posts they made. When checking “all posts”, under the Authors column, the names would usually show there, but now they’re missing. I have to manually go in the post and re-add the author.
    One of my authors who made about 30+ posts, only has his name on 3 posts but it was working fine before. I’m completely lost on what could cause this.

    I’m not sure if it’s a plugin issue because I turned off all plugins and still the same issue. Although I am using the “Co-Authors Plus” plugin which I tested on another WP install and no issues with that one.

  • Are you using the most recent version of the plug-in? Looks like it was updated three days ago.

    Yes, I had updated to latest version of that. I’m not sure but it seemed like WordPress just took all the authors from the posts out of the database. I’m manually re-adding posts for a simple fix for now but I can’t have this happening as the blog constantly has new posts from different authors.

    I have the same issue except that no authors are showing. When I look at the code (firebug) for the table entry it contains:

    <td class="author column-author">
<a href="edit.php?post_type=post&author=1"></a>
</td>

    Obviously this is not visible. Does this help shed any light on the problem i might have?

    @alperian: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.
