• New to WordPress, I’m hesitant to give members Author status as I’m worried that the less IT literate will have a hard time setting up their posts and pictures and make a messy Post or they will post junky rather than quality Posts which would lower the quality of our website.

Therefore either I’d like to 1) have any Posts OK’d and cleaned up by me before go live or 2) they submit text and images to me and I cut and paste and code the Post for them and preferably they make replies as “Author”.

Any advice or redirect if existing similar threads appreciated!

  • Hi, If you see here

You can probably achieve 1. by having the users as contributors rather than authors as they have the capabilities you want.

Contributor – Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish them

Option 2 would require a custom form either coded by yourself or maybe a plugin so that users could submit the data.

Duh, missed that user status, I confused Posts with normal posts like in this forum, whereas WordPress calls Posts what I would consider Articles.

    Many thanks!!!
