Authors Cannot Update Profile Pic

  • I have authors listed out on a staff page, however when an author goes to upload a picture in their profile or changes on gravatar the upload or update is not reflected so the profile image is not changed. For the upload, non-gravatar option, it does not appear to upload anything.

    I am not sure how to proceed, at some point in time these features worked as the authors have pictures, but can no longer update their pictures.

    I am using the Starbox Pro plugin which is at version 1.5.2. I am not sure if this plugin needs to be updated or how to proceed because I went and checked for updates directly on the Starbox site and within WP and both say that the plugin is up to date.

    Thank you for your patience.

    I checked the page of each author. I don’t see the theme to show the author image at all.
    Starbox PRO should show the changed image if the theme shows the images in the first place.

    Please talk with the theme’s author to show the author image in the author page header and it should work.

    The image for Adam Koehler it’s impossible to change cause its page is on a different website.

    Can you provide me with an example of what you are referring to? I am just trying to wrap my head around what you are talking about before I continue digging for solutions in various places including asking within the Sparkling theme support area for help.

    Hi,

    First, please make sure you have the /wp-content/uploads/gravatar/ directory writable so that Starbox can add the images in that directory.

    Second, when I click on an author image to see the user profile, the theme doesn’t have the author’s image and this is what I thought you are referring to.

    Calin, thank you for the direction.

    In response to gravatar directory permissions:
    I made sure gravatar directory is writable, and it is, and it also has the latest profile images within it.

    In response to theme modifications:
    I am referring to the Starbox author box not displaying the updated author picture, not the author page that lists out all the written articles of that author.

    Are you saying that the theme must be modified to include the author picture on that page in order for Starbox to work properly? I don’t understand why Starbox is dependent on the theme displaying an author picture when the author page has nothing to do with where the author boxes are being displayed.
