    Hello, first ever post on www.remarpro.com.

    I’m running WP 5.0.3 with PT Magazine theme. Everything is up to date.

    I have been running the site since last August without issue, this last week my “Author” users let me know when they login they no longer see dashboard they are directed back to the normal site after login instead of seeing dashboard items.

    Today I started trouble shooting with a test user account that is also “Author”, recreated the issue cannot see dashboard on login.

    Deactivated all plugins. Login, no issue, can see dashboard as test user.

    Activate Admin Custom Login, login again as test user, cannot see dashboard items only the website.

    No settings were changed by me in Admin Custom Login, it does have the redirect showing the root website url, but i wouldn’t think that should override the “Author” privileges correct? So either something changed in the plugin, the theme, or WP core.

    No issues when logging in as Admin.

    Any ideas? Thank you

    UPDATE 11:11 PST I just reactivated all plugins but deactivated the Admin Custom Login and the problem returned, so something else is going on. I don’t know how to delete the post and I am not sure if I should even keep updating here. If I figure it out I’ll likely do a final update/edit.

    UPDATE 16:21 PST

    I went through all plugins deactivating and activating each one, then in combinations, and the only two plugins that recreate the issue of Author users not seeing the dashboard after they login are Admin Custom Login and Ultimate member.

    Once narrowed to these two plugins I thought maybe it was the theme so I switched my theme from PT Magazine to Business Insights and the then checked each plugin again and no difference, still the same two plugins when activated with the same result of Author user not seeing the dashboard after login.

    I am not really sure how to trouble shoot from here since there is no apparent error message. Would enabling debugging help? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks for using our plugin.

    This is not the admin custom login plugin issue.

    If you want to log-in your author user as dashboard then Please deactivate Ultimate member,
    So this plugin allows to the author login in frontend section.
    No need to deactivate your other plugins

    Thank you for your response. My apologies that my forumn posts were not clear enough.

    Even with every plugin deactivated (every plugin, meaning also Ultimate member) and only Admin Custom Login plugin activated, the issue persists.

    The issue is the same for both Admin Custom Login and for Ultimate Member even if only one or the other is activated.

    For whatever reason, I must have Admin Custom Login deactivated, even with Ultimate Member deactivated. I cannot use either plugin at this time. Not by themselves or together.

    I hope this clarifies. Any suggested course of action towards troubleshooting and allowing me to use these plugins again is greatly appreciated.

    We check the admin custom login plugin in our site with an Ultimate member plugin.
    Ultimate member plugin allows to user login in the front-end dashboard.

    Please deactivate the only Ultimate member plugin.

    @weblizar thanks for the response. I had tried the deactivate Ulimate member plugin only, same issue. i have not had time to go in and troubleshoot further but I appreciate the response. Apologies for responding so late. Unfortunately I have another project taking my time so I cannot troubleshoot this one now. Thank you for your support, it is appreciated. I will post here and email webilizer contact when I can get back to it and any troubleshooting outcomes.
