Author showing up in link preview

  • Okay, so I have a wordpress site in development, however, when I post a link to discord, it always displays the author name in the post and links to the author page. How do I stop this from happening? I have searching through the theme code, and changed things, always coming up empty. I have tried all I can think to try. Even used the meta delete plugin to no avail. Anyway my theme is Hestia, and this is how my link appears in discord:

    Site Name (with link to site)
    Author (with link to author page)
    Site Name (with link to site)

    I just want the author part gone completely.

  • Depending on the markup of the author link from the theme, a lot of information can be sitting in plain sight. If the author link has a class of url or fn, then it could be picked up as the microformat and used to indicate the author’s main page.
    You should ask in the theme’s support forum.
    (The information can also be put into JSON format in the head section of the page by a plugin.)
