Author profile page and avatar beside each post

  • I have a blog with many authors representing various organisations.

    I would like each author to have an avatar beside each post they make. I would also like each author to have a profile page which they can edit themselves.

    Any suggestions (preferably plug-ins or step by step instructions) on how to achieve this would be very greatly appreciated!
