If I click “edit author profile” on any of my existing guest authors, I get a blank page with just the purple bar that says “You’re using PublishPress Authors Free. The Pro version has more features and support” up at the top. I’m currently unable to add any information to authors or to give them an avatar. Is this a bug or a feature?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @yoppvoice. You probably have some kind of permission or capability restriction on editing taxonomies.

Do you have any permission plugins installed?

To my knowledge, no I don’t have any permission plugins installed. I’m the admin for my site and no one else has access to any editing capabilities but me.

I just tried a couple things.

I logged in and logged back out. When I clicked on “edit user” for my own account, it took me to the standard WordPress edit profile page. When I clicked on “edit author profile,” I saw a flash of a screen with a number of entry fields, which immediately disappeared and went back to being a blank page. After doing this once, I tried the “edit user” button again and it too took me to a blank page.

I tried de-activated and reactivating the plugin. This regained me the ability to click “edit user” and this time, that ability didn’t disappear after I clicked “edit author profile” but it continued to be the case that clicking “edit author profile” resulted in a quick flash of empty entry fields and then a blank page.

    Thanks @yoppvoice

It sounds like you have a conflict with another plugin.

    1. Try this to find an error: https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/debug-errors-publishpress-screens/

    2. Try disabling other plugins on the site one-by-one

    3. If neither work, you can open a support ticket on our site and send the Site Health information.

I found the offending plug-in. It was “Category Editor” by Kevin Heath. The “edit author profile” link is working now. Thank you!
