Author pages feed generated without regard to redirection

  • My site redirects /author/author_name pages to /author_name, and I use a filter on the author_link() function to implement this, among other things.

    Although this redirect is consistent through my WP install, this plugin still generates author pages as /author/author_name.

    As far as I can tell, this plugin does not actually scan the site, and follow links, it simply generates links as per normal WP page structure. Still, is does not obey a very important redirect. How can I make it do it?
