• OK, when I write a new post, I can’t select myself as the “author.” Only two other users, which are “contributors,” are selectable. I have to change it manually via phpMyAdmin to correct it.

Anyone? This is becoming increasingly irritating.

I would think if you were logged in and made a post, it would name YOU as the author. Who does it say authored the posts you make?

When I go to write a post, the author is set to another user, and my name is not on the list, except for posts as me already an author. This first happened when the two other authors registered (originally as “authors,” now as “contributors”).

I have exactly this same problem. In fact, this is the second time I’ve hit it, on two separate WordPress installations. See https://zahambie.com/blog/2008/06/30/ownership-issues/ for details of the first time, which was fixed by (bizarrely) using only the visual editor.

This current incarnation of the bug is not proving as easily beaten.

Does anyone out there have any idea what’s happening and how to fix it.

Go to Users, and re-set yourself as “Admin” and hit update/save (whatever it is) and then your name will appear to be selected as author.

I’ve had the same problem on my WordPress’ too, and that solved the problem for me.
