• Hi,
We are a multi author site and sometimes people send submissions in via email and we edit it and put it up whilst logged into the admin account. Once the post is ready, or even just after creating the post, we change the author to the correct person. We can then publish the article. We have plugins which tweet and make a fb post automatically and pull information such as the author, however it keeps using the original author when doing this and not the author at the time of doing these automatic tasks. The same issue occurs with jetpack stats. When I have a look at the jetpack stats and try and sort via author, the articles are all listed under the admin as they originally created the post, but weren’t the author when they were published. Does anyone else get this issue and have you found a way to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Hope I’m not pointing out the obvious…but where are you changing the author? Are you changing the author directly in the “edit post” page, which you would need to click on screen options drop-down at the top of the page and then check off “author” for the option box to appear that allows you to change the author prior to publishing.

That’s where we change it. There is an an author options box in the post edit page with a drop down list of all the authors. We change it to the correct author then save and then try publish, but it still gives the incorrect information.
