Author list is not repopulating

    When I created a new user, I misspelled the user’s last name. I returned to wp-admin/users.php and corrected the error. However, the misspelled last name still appears in the pop-up list of authors on posts. So, as Admin, if I attribute a post to the user, the post has the misspelled name.

    Is this normal behavior? Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to log into mysql and INSERT into USERS blah-blah-blah?

  • Nope, just go back to that user and look at the “display name as” dropdown…..your corrected version should appear there……

    The corrected name does appear correctly in /users. However, it does not show correctly in the pop-up list of authors when I edit (as editor or admin) a post and want to attribute it to that user.

    I see that updating also eliminated the erroneous entry.
