    Hi,

Why the paginated url for author is not set to noindex or canonical to parent author page?

    example author:
    site.com/author/abc
    has second page as site.com/author/abc/2
Now site.com/author/abc/2 should either be set canoncial to site.com/author/abc or be set noindex.

Please advice, how to fix it.

Thanks for reaching out about your paginated archives.

    Hello @toshiamcbrowns

Thanks for reaching out again about your paginated archives. There is no option in the Yoast SEO plugin to add a?noindex?tag to paginated archives. According to Google, adding?noindex?on a page long-term will lead to them not following links on that page. More recent statements imply that if a page isn’t in their index, the links on it and from it can’t be evaluated at all. So with that, we do not recommend adding?noindex?to /page/2… or further on paginated archives.

However, if you still want to noindex paginated archive pages, you can use the filter here. You or your developer can customize it depending on your needs. You may also get in touch with your theme developer for further guidance.
