  • The believe that the /author/username/ works if you’re using the pretty permalinks. is that what you’re using?

Yes, I am using pretty permalinks. I use /%postname%/

actually, it works for one of the authors only. I don’t know why. https://www.example.com/author/username works, but only for this one author and not for me or any other authors. The author that it works for is the only other admin (other than me).

I did a little searching and now understand that the author.php page is only for users with higher user levels. Is there a way to have the author.php page display for users such as subscribers?

Hi, i didn’t want to make another topic so i’ll ask it here. i did a thorough search about it but no help.

The permalinks open as “author/name”, but can they open just as “/name” ?

    thanks in advance,
    KK.

I’d just like to second Andrew’s question: does anyone know where WordPress sets what user level (or maybe Role now?) can have an author page?

I’m having the exact same problem. One single permalink-author page shows up but every other user returns a page not found. This, however, is NOT the case when I turn pretty permalinks off.

    Any update on this? Direction?
