Author and style pages showing even-though blocked

    Hello,

    I’ve been using Yoast and works well but recently found something interesting. In Google search author page is showing https://siteurl/author/name as well as https://siteurl/valentines-day-style/

    In Yoast – Taxonomies, the Categories (style_category) is set to NO for “Show Categories in search results?”

    Author archives is also set to NO.

    I’m not sure why these pages are still showing…

    What else am I missing here?

    How recently did you modify the setting to not show the category or author page? Have you confirmed in the page’s source code that a noindex tag is present? If it isn’t, if you clear your cache (server, plugin/theme, or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache you should speak with your host provider.

    It’s been a couple of months since I modified those settings.

    Also, if I go to the page source code it shows <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex,follow”/>

    The cache on server and cloudflare has also been cleared…

    Just does not make sense to me why it still appears

    Using the site: search operator, I only see a few pages that appear in Google for the domain you listed in ‘The page I need help with’ link. Is this the domain where the author and category pages are located that show in Google search?

    If this is the domain in question, the author and category pages no longer appear in search results. It is worth noting that Google will sometimes insert personalized search results for you that no one else sees. Using a private or incognito browser window allows you to see Google search results without the personalized results.

    If the domain is different, can you provide a link to an author and category page that appear in Google so we can investigate further?
