    Hello,

Authors on my site can create products and upload images.

But they cannot EDIT OTHERS products or images.

Why are they able to SEE others products and images?

I do not see any options related to “viewing others products and images”.

Can you tell me how can I prevent my authors from SEEING products and images that belong to OTHERS?

    Many thanks!

    David.

    Hi @davidwoolf

    Thanks for using PublishPress Capabilities.

When you say “SEEING” does it mean on frontend or in backend (WP-admin)?

Also does the product you are referring to is from WooCommerce?

    Hello,

Everyone can see images and products on the front end.

I am referring to the backend user dashboard.

When my “author” logs in, and navigates to the backend dashboard, I believe he should be able to VIEW (see) ONLY his products and his images.

Yes, the products are Woo commerce products. Please do not refer me to their permissions plugins, it does not work well as your Capabilities plugin.

The actual capabilities options to NOT allow the “author” to edit others products is working well, I just don’t understand why they are visible in the “author” dashboard, just filling the view with products and images that cannot be edited and have no business being there.

To make it more clear: When I login to my online banking, I do not see other people’s account balances.

    Thank you!

    Hi @davidwoolf

Thanks for using PublishPress. Sorry, this isn’t possible with WooCommerce. It is possible with normal posts, but the WooCommerce “Products” layout doesn’t follow WordPress standards.

Plus, products don’t have “authors”, so WooCommerce doesn’t have any sense of who owns what.
