• Hi all,

I succesfully installed the authimage.php hack, to prevent comment spam, but it seems to me I now need to approve all comments that are made, before they show up. Is there a workaround for this, cause I just want comments to show up as soon as they are made.

  • Check that you have no blank lines or other strange single characters in your spamwords list.

It’s easier to check if you copy and paste it into something like Notepad.

Thanks. I did have a single blank line. All solved now, thanks and a happy new year!

I’m using the authimage hack myself (captcha) and I have to say it has reduced my comment spam from about 175 to 0 (no joke!) posts a week. I’m really lurving it.

I’d be interested to know if you have a similar experience.

Someone also mentioned merely changing the comments posting code to include an extra checkbox for something like, “this is what I want to post”… etc. Messes up the robots/zombies that are being used to post the comment spam.

it works for me, no spam anymore.
Only sometimes the code doenst show up, and sometimes it does. I really have no idea what causes this.

    Any suggestion?
