    Hi,

I have installed the plugin on our productive site. All other instances on test sites were removed. I connected to GoToWebinar (we have a PRO account). Everything worked fine for some days.

Last friday the authorisation failed. I had to re-auth. Today, i got kicked out 3 times. The message reads:

We ran into an issue during authentication. The response from the GoToWebinar server was: 400 Bad Request. An error can occur during the authentication process for a couple of reasons. If you are on a trial account sometimes the API does not work so please go onto a paid account. It is possible the GoToWebinar server is down and a temporary issue has occured. In which case please wait a few minutes and try again. Make sure that the account you are using to login with is for GoToWebinar and not another LogMeIn product. If you have turned caching off (in the General Options tab) it is possible you have ran into your daily API limit – it is recommended to keep caching turned on and to only delete the cache when necessary. You can also reach out to LogMeIn for further information on your account and why you could be experiencing this issue.

I have cache turned on, we only have 25 webinars right now, so the API limit of 500 per day should not be reached. (I also tried with cache off, same problem.)

I contacted LogMeIn already, they said the account was fine. Said we could up the API limit of our developer account. But we don’t have one.

I also searched the forum and tried different suggestions, nothing worked. Lots of people here talk about the authorization and organizer key. I don’t have these fields.

Any ideas what i can do? I can’t re-auth the plugin 4 times a day.

    Thanks for the help!
    Thomas

  • Hi @northernbeacheswebsites
I’ve deactivated a bunch of plugins, we’ll see if anything changes. The site gets ok traffic but the pages with G2W forms on them see only a handful of visitors a day, I think it was about 100 last month total.
    thanks,

    Hi everyone,

i have tested the plugin for a week now on a test site. It works great, no issues at all. I’m on version 12.9 right now.

@northernbeacheswebsites I just bought the PRO version to support your work. I will install it on the live site within the next days and report back if it works there as well.

    Regards, Thomas

HI @solidline, On version 12.10 we provide a more reliable connection experience for pro users as well. Thanks,

We’re on plugin version 12.11 with WordPress 4.9.7 and still losing G2W authentication daily. I think it might have been better though not perfect under the prior version. @northernbeacheswebsites were you able to get any better response from gotowebinar/citrix on this?

Hi Limeduck, do you have a development or test server set up which is also using the plugin?

Hey, this client isn’t very well set up. I could spin up a fresh install elsewhere but it won’t match his environment.

Does this error shed any light?

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/74/8524174/html/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-gotowebinar/wp-gotowebinar.php on line 129

this is new, with this error I can no longer log in, this is the error at /wp-admin – I had to FTP in to disable the plugin and then log in and reactivate it

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/74/8524174/html/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-gotowebinar/wp-gotowebinar.php on line 129

I’m checking whatever else in the environment I can get at. Might be a PHP problem.

    Hi @limeduck,

In the plugin settings under the support tab you should see all the diagnostic information, just copy and paste that in here. Also, if you haven’t already updated to the latest version of the plugin please do so. Then reauthenticate the plugin and if the authentication drops out again please send me the file called connection-log.txt file which is located in the “inc” folder of the plugin.

The error message you are seeing doesn’t mean anything really, it just means that you are not authenticated which means you need to authenticate again. This might sound like a stupid question, but do you actually have a GoToWebinar account? People have tried to use the plugin before and they only had a GoToMeeting account and that is not going to work!

    Thanks,

There are no stupid questions in troubleshooting! Thanks for following through. We do have a G2W account, and things to do work when they work, they just won’t stay working for too long. If the pattern holds, It’ll break again within a day and I’ll have files to send.

    Hi @limeduck,

I think I have gotten to the bottom of the issue you are running into with this error message. I believe the issue has to do with our application running into API limits with GoToWebinar. To get around these rate limits I have just released a new version of the plugin which enables you to create your own application with GoToWebinar instead of using our application which everyone uses. So please update the plugin, and follow the instructions mentioned at the top of the “General Options” tab. Once you have created your own application and authenticated you should find the error message you mentioned will disappear AND the connection with GoToWebinar should be pretty stable because it’s just your account using the app. Thanks,

    Hi @limeduck @northernbeacheswebsites,

I have the exact same problem with the plugin disconnecting (almost) every night. But reading about the app gave me some hope ??

I will test this right away and report.

    Hi again,

I installed the new version Thursday and created an app in GTW. Now I am connected to my own app but I still got kicked out saturday night.

Any other ideas? Do I need to up the API limit in GTW? Or are there known conflicts with other plugins that I could check?

    Plugin Author Northern Beaches Websites

    (@northernbeacheswebsites)

Can you please send the connection log file which can be found in the plugin folder. Have you installed the plugin anywhere else, like a test or development server?

    Hello @northernbeacheswebsites @solidline and others

Well, we had a solid week of connection with version 12.13 and our own G2W app, much longer than it’s lasted before, but today reverted to the worst case:
    – no webinar signup forms https://www.dropbox.com/s/u487z73wdttsjfg/Screenshot%202018-07-26%2009.51.31.png?dl=0
    – an error message on every page of the site, even those w/o any webinar forms
    – can’t log in to wordpress at wp-admin https://www.dropbox.com/s/l9he4x62245ncuy/Screenshot%202018-07-26%2009.52.10.png?dl=0 (this one really freaks me out)

So I went in via FTP and renamed the plugin directory which allowed me to log on to wordpress, then re-renamed the directory back and reactivated and reauthorized it, and all is back to normal.

    Environment notes:
    WordPress 4.9.7
    WPBakery Page Builder
php 5.6 (I would love for this to be the problem)
    GoToWebinar Starter

The connection log looks clean, so now I’m wondering if the error isn’t actually about authentication, but some other fail… https://www.dropbox.com/s/dclxd19mj6r4ob6/Screenshot%202018-07-26%2010.01.46.png?dl=0

Thanks for reading, any advice appreciated.
