• Hello Support Team,

I am receiving the following error message when trying to access a customer in test mode:

“No such customer: ‘cus_RCTXHX602V5iJ2’; a similar object exists in live mode, but a test mode key was used to make this request.”

It appears that the customer ID (‘cus_RCTXHX602V5iJ2’) exists in live mode, but I’m trying to access it in test mode. Could you please help me resolve this issue? Is it possible to access live mode customer data using a test key, or do I need to create a new customer in the test environment for testing purposes?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi @italos12,

    Greetings from Webtoffee!

The “No such customer” error is caused by the database retaining customer and payment information from live mode.

The customer information saved in Stripe for test mode and live mode is different. If you have made an order in live mode, the customer information is saved in the WordPress and Stripe database, and it will be used for all future payments. When you use the test mode, the customer details are not available in your Stripe database. However, the existing customer data from the WordPress database will be used to initiate this test payment.

When using test payments try guest checkout to avoid this issue.
