Audio Uploads Vary During Editing

I’m having problems uploading audio clips to my trivia website as I edit it. I chose a basic theme. I am only using the essential plugins. I have contacted my host weekly about this issue and followed their advice every time. But the problems always resume after the “fix” in one form or another. According to the website info, the numbers say that it is running perfectly speed-wise and no problems are detected. I’m using a Mac Mini (2014) with OS 12.7.3. Nothing else on my computer is loading slowly. In fact, the audio portion of my website is the only thing that I’m having trouble with. Everything else flows quite nicely.

First off, yes, I’ve got a ton of audio-based questions, so I realize that there should be general loading delays. But my problems are more inconsistent. I take and edit down clips from YouTube using ProTools so that they a minute or less and export them as .Wav files. Sometimes when I upload an audio clip to my website, it goes right in. Sometimes when I upload an audio clip, it goes right in but the time for the clip reads: 0:00 (I’ve found that I can work around that problem by uploading that clip again from the Media Library). Sometimes when I upload an audio clip, it just spins and spins and spins (the only way to work around this is to log out of everything and start again – I’ve tried to wait some out). Sometimes I can easily load 4 or 5 in a row without a delay and the next one is the problem. So I never know when it’s going to happen. Recently, I found that if I uploaded all the clips I plan to add for the current edit in the Media Library first, I can then put them on the page quickly and without a problem. But that only worked until the next time I tried it and one just spun and spun and spun after I had added several clips. I just can’t win. The inconsistency is very frustrating. The unpredictability of it all makes a simple and easy and fun experience totally annoying.

I realize there are numerous reasons why things can be slow. But I can’t understand the seemingly random nature of all this. You’d think it would be slow every time for every audio clip. Maybe something is piggybacking on some of the clips as I upload them? If so, how do I prevent that?

Lastly, I’m not that tech savvy so I might be doing something that’s causing this, but just don’t know. Either way, I need help.
