audio shortcode just not working

  • There are other posts that touch this but it is scattered info.

    The short story is that when I put audio shortcode in a post nothing renders.

    I gather that these are implemented in themes and I got a plugin called shortcode reference and it tells me that audio is definitely included in my current theme (which is My Music Band, and formerly it was Muso) It fails on both.

    I have no clue how to troubleshoot this

    Am I meant to “enable” this globally somewhere? Thank you for your answers

    OKay now when I try to add media nothing happens. Not trying to start a new problem thread, just saying why I’m currently unable to try a small mp3 test file hosted on my server. I suppose I could strong arm it up there manually, but going out of band like that I don’t know whether WordPress would have it in its media library. I know I was able to add media via the GUI earlier because I did it.
