Audio playing with delay on iphone

  • Hello,
    I am using the Audioigniter Plugin on my website and the Audios play fine everywhere except on Iphone (with browsers Safari and Chrome). On Iphone there is a delay of a few seconds (4-8 seconds). It plays right away on android or other operating systems. Do you know what the reason could be and if there is a fix?

    Hi there,
    can you verify with your host that you are using the correct content type settings for media files in your server? Safari probably respects these settings, so it will try to download the full song and not stream it.

    thanks so much for your reply! I will check. Can the media file settings be changed in the wordpress interface directly?
    There hasn’t always been a delay, in the beginning the audio played right away, now there is a delay on Sarari but also Chrome on Iphone.

    Hi there,
    This is not related to WordPress, and only your host can make this change.
    I general this delay will appear everywhere, but, in desktop usually download speed is x4, so you cannot really notice it. You will see that this happens on the default WordPress media player also.
