Audio players not showing, Header and footer tags present

Hello. I have recently updated my WordPress install to 4.2.2 and all of the audio players on my posts are not showing up. I haven’t installed any new plugins and the Header and Footer tags are present and in the right places. While inspecting the source code that is generated audio player visibility is set to ‘hidden’.

I have seen some suggestions in the forums to delete the styling that causes this from the media.php file and others that say never to do that. Even if I wanted to, the line isn’t even present when I open the media.php file in NotePad++.

All audio players were working before this update. I’m not having any luck finding a solution thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
