    Hello,

why are the audio files on each slides background not affected by the page advancements and why do they not stop after they are done playing? This seems like a bug or at least overseen and very important feature.

Is there a way to not have audio files looping on page advancement?

    Thanks.

    Hi there

Background audio is not currently taken into account for page advancement because background audio is looping by default and there’s currently no option to turn that off.

I’d be happy to open a feature request for this though.

What type of audio are you using right now where you would want this for?

Thank you for request opening. I feel that was a discussion some weeks before also, hope this can be done.

The audio used can be viewed in the provided webstory-link ‘page I need help with’

Unfortunately I can’t access the link as the story seems to be a draft or deleted, not public.

We are using narration mp3 files that end on the last word as page background audio. The story background audio is a music track. Both would be great to be toggle-able.

    Any workaround ideas for narrations?

    Got it, thanks!

I’ll put non-looping background audio for narration on our roadmap so we can add this in the new year. You can follow progress on this ticket.

A possible workaround might be to use a video for the content + narration, so that you could add captions for the narration as well.

We’ll be adding captions support to background audio together with the non-looping support as well.

Thank you for adding the issue to the list! Hope to see implementation as soon as possible.

For anyone also looking for workarounds, some ideas:

    1. millisecond-exact animation timing running the entire length of each slide
    2. a couple of silent seconds at the end of each audio file (slide-length animation timing still needed, but ~second-exact is enough)

PS to Pascal: Please check the story audio again as it is now published. The issue now is as you can see, slide-progression sounds slightly awkward.

@emilrueh thank you for your feedback and for the workarounds. Thanks also for publishing your web story and I can see what you are referring to.

We will look to address this in the GitHub issue raised by @swissspidy. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
