Attributes woocommerce dont show for products

    Good evening,

    I’m setting up an affiliate website, but have an issue with the attributes. I created an attribute ‘merk’ (brand), for every product the brand is imported here. In csv I have fields for attribute items, and it is imported. As I open a product in cms and look at the attributes, the brand is showing up over there.

    When I go to ‘attributes’ in cms I see the ammount of products the brands have, but when I click on brandname it says ‘no products found’….. and on front there are also no products found.

    In filter the brands are showing, but with 0 results, for example [ redundant link removed ]

    Does anybody know how this could be? I just imported a few new items to see if maybe it was an error in last feed (after imports before it worked all OK, I did no changes on website), but it is still the same; on product page in cms and on front the brand attribute is there, but when I click on brandname on front or in cms, there are zero products for the brand.

    When I export the products I also see the brand as attribute in csv.

    So looks like imports are OK and brand attribute is saved for all products, but it don’t show up, in cms and in front. But why?

    If I understand correctly, you are trying to filter products by attribute “brand.”

    If that’s the case, can you please make sure that you have created global attributes under Products > Attributes, and that global attributes are added to products. If you manually add attributes to product individually, the Filter by attributes won’t work properly:

    Indeed, I want to filter on brand.

    I have created global attributes as described in woocommerce docs. I import all products with this attributes via an csv file. So far all is working, all products are in woocommerce, with brand.

    If I click on a product in woocommerce I see the brand. But when I go to attributes in woocommerce I do see all brands which are imported with products, but all with zero products. its very weird.
    Also on my website it says no products for every brand.

    But the brands are in woocommerce, from my csv, and are mentioned in attributes of the product. Problem is woocommerce says there are zero products for every brand.

    Are you using the core Product CSV Importer and Exporter functionality? If so, could you please share your CSV or a piece of it with us? This way can try to reproduce the error on our side and know what could be going on.

    Also, to know more about your setup and further check into this, kindly provide us your System Status; you can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select ‘Get system report’ and then ‘Copy for support’. Once you do this, paste in here your response.

    Thanks so much for providing so many details which is very helpful for us towards troubleshooting, but before we look into those, there are other basic issues of grave concern that need to be addressed first.

    WC Version: 3.8.2
    Upon checking your system status I see that you’re running a very old version of WooCommerce and this may cause all sorts of issues. You may want to update WooCommerce to the latest version. Here’s a helpful guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-update-woocommerce/

    As you’ll be updating from quite an old WooCommerce version, I would recommend taking a full backup before making changes, to be on the safe side. That’ll enable you easily restore your site to the previous/functional state in case something goes wrong. For backups you can use

    Ok, I just updated evrything I think.. always a good idea. and everything is working still ??

    But I still have the same problem.

    I just imported another file, with this product:
    https://kinderkleding-online.com/product/zoocchini-zwemluier-zonnehoedje-kikker-12-24-mnd/

    On the page and in cms attribute brand (merk) is filled in: Zoocchini.
    See ‘extra informatie’.

    When I take a look in wordpress cms at products / attributes / merk and look for Zoocchini, it says there are five products. But when I click on 5, there are no products.
    Also in front when you take a look at the filter of brands, there are no products for Zoocchini.

    Hi @danielle85s

    When I take a look in wordpress cms at products / attributes / merk and look for Zoocchini, it says there are five products. But when I click on 5, there are no products.
    Also in front when you take a look at the filter of brands, there are no products for Zoocchini.

    Can you go to WooCommerce > Tools, and click Recount terms to see if that helps?

    I just did, but it didn’t help yet. This weekend I will delete all products, and brands, and import again, to see if maybe it is solved then, after a whole new import. I let you know, thanks for the help so far!

    just deleted all products, attributes, categories and everything else…. but still the same problem :((

    Now I see it isn’t a filter problem, but the brands aren’t added to the attributes, because there are 0 brands now.

    Maybe someone see the solution? I don’t get it….

    In my feed I have the columns
    Naam eigenschap 1 Waarde eigenschap 1 Zichtbare eigenschap 1 Globale eigenschap 1

    While starting import in wordpress I connect all the right attributes to the columns.

    For every product there is a brand attribute in wordpress which is filled in… but in the attributes section I don’t see any brand…. very weird. maybe it’s a stupid thing I don’t see…

    Hopefully someone can see it.

    Let’s try something else, then.

    Please try importing this CSV. It’s just one simple product with the attribute “brand” and value “wootester”. After importing, “brand” should show up in Products > Attributes and clicking on it, you should see “1” under “Count”, like shown in the image below.

    Finally, the ?filter_brand=wootester filter should correctly list that product.

    To inspect the CSV before importing, please use Google Sheets or another of the suggestions here, as Microsoft Excel can cause encoding issues.

    If the import worked as I described, then that might mean there’s something wrong with the CSV you were using before.

    If, on the other hand, my CSV is also not importing correctly, then there’s probably something else causing the issues. I would suggest you perform a conflict test as described here.

    Good evening, thanks for your very fast reply. Just imported the file, and that works… so there is something wrong with my csv. I will check the differences between your and mine csv asap and let you know if I can fix / see the problem. I’m using excel for creating all feeds, can that be a problem?

    If possible, please avoid Microsoft Excel due to formatting and character encoding issues when creating your CSV file.

    Only noww I have a new problem, the images doesn’t work anymore ?? but that’s a problem of the plugin I think…

    But luckily the brands are showing up now!

    Don’t know exactly what was the fix… I have changed the attribute name, deleted some rows in the feed I don’t imported and changed the titles in the feed like the way they were in the example.

    But it works, that’s great! Now in future I’m gonna try 2 attributes….
