Attributes – Size – in Fractions by Weight – Sort Order

    I have a fishing tackle store that has 100’s of sizes, many of which are fractions. For example, certain sinkers are sold in a variety of sizes:

    It displays as:
    1 oz – 100 pack
    14 oz – 100 pack
    12 oz – 100 pack
    34 oz – 100 pack
    2 1/2 oz – 50 pack
    3 1/2 oz – 50 pack
    3/8 oz – 100 pack

    The correct sort order should be:
    3/8 oz – 100 pack
    2 1/2 oz – 50 pack
    3 1/2 oz – 50 pack
    1 oz – 100 pack
    14 oz – 100 pack
    12 oz – 100 pack
    34 oz – 100 pack

    I have this attribute set to Custom ordering but because there are so many sizes, it is very difficult to manually sort all of them. (Products > Attributes > Select Size and then drag and dropping in order)

    Could you suggest another way to do this? Perhaps a plugin? Something that will sort fractions or weights?

    Hello @lisaa,

    I have this attribute set to Custom ordering but because there are so many sizes, it is very difficult to manually sort all of them. (Products > Attributes > Select Size and then drag and dropping in order)

    You can sort the attribute terms by “Name”, “Name (numeric)”, “Term ID” or “Custom ordering”.

    I understand how frustrating it can be to manually sort through hundreds of terms. However, if the first three options are not sorting them in the way you prefer, custom sorting is the only solution.

    Exporting the terms, bulk editing them, and then re-importing them may make the process easier.

    However, WooCommerce does not support importing attribute terms by default. You can find many data-importing plugins in our store that can assist you in this process.
