attributes for "size" and "color" not showing up

Hello, I made my attributes for “size” and “color” but when I try to add them to my variations and it is not working.
#1)when I click the screen just shows like it is loading and won’t load up fully–I need to refresh the page to get it to stop “thinking”.#2) the only thing that shows up on my products page is the dropdown menu with only the “choose an option” as a choice rather than my various colors/sizes.
