• I’ve nearly finished developing a site (www.meccs.org/site), and my customer has just started adding content, and suddenly when I go into edit-page in wp-admin, the attributes section (in which I specify parent-page, among other things) is blank.

Any idea how I can make this problem go away? I haven’t recently installed any new plug-ins, and I can’t imagine my customer has done anything besides changed the content of a number of existing pages I’d already set up for her – I’m certain she hasn’t gone deep into the hosting server and changed the php code that controls this.

Has anyone had this happen to them, and figured out what causes it? Anyone have any ideas on how to make it go away, and NOT happen in the future?

  • Hi,

    Is it blank or missing?
Did you check under screen options (topright) in the Add New page screen if it is ticked?

Are your plugins up to date? Especially NextGen?

It all worked properly up til a few days ago. And the screen options are set. I see the Attributes section (Attributes is there) but it’s empty.

<div id=”pageparentdiv” class=”postbox closed” > seems to be the offending line in the .html

Any thoughts which php file would do this?

    Hi Imarik,

Hoover over they grey area with the word Attributes and you will see sort of an arrow at the right hand side of the grey bar. It points down; click it to open up the Attributes Menu.
    Then also the postbox-closed disappears.

    Note:
I did some clicking around in the screen option menu and thought I lost it all! Clicking back to the two columns layout did not fill up the right side bar again (not even the Publish item) I had to drag them from below the write-pagebox to the right column.
