    Hi,

I have a travel photography site that I’m trying to set up WooCommerce for and currently only offer the same 16 products for all of my photos (haven’t worked out how to connect woocommerce to my theme yet but that’s another problem).

    This is what I’ve done:
    1. Products: set up a page named “Shop”
    2. Attributes: set up seperate global for:
    a.Size: 8×12, 16×20, 20×30, 24×32
    b.Print: 2 types – but sell 4 sizes
    c.Fine Art: 2 types – but sell 2 sizes
    d.Canvas: 2 types – but sell 2 sizes

    3. Product (Shop) page:
    a. Attributes – imported the 4 global Attributes
    b. Variations – this is where everything goes wrong:

    i. If I auto “Create variations from all attributes”,32 variations are populated. However, I can’t delete the sizes that I don’t sell for the specific products as the rows are populated with all Attributes on each row: sizes, Print, Fine Art, Canvas.

ii. If I manually add an Attribute, the row still contains the 4 attributes and I can’t delete anything within that row, only the whole row.

iii. At either of the above stages, when testing the Shop page in preview, I can’t just buy 1 product at 1 size. Of course, I can only select from each drop-down before the Cart accepts the products and I can continue with the purchase, which isn’t correct.

The Shop page is currently marked as Private as it’s my sandbox. Because I have only a few products that are the same for each photo, I was hoping to have all of these on one Product page with attributes/variations.

Any help would be fantastic – thank you!

I’ve resolved the Attributes problem. For anyone that needs to do the same, create only 2 global Attributes:
    1. Size – configure terms (include all 4 sizes)
    2. Print Medium – configure terms (include all 6 mediums)

At your Product page, select Variable Product:
    1. Attributes option – select Add Custom Product Attributes> select Size (all terms), select Print Mediums (all terms)
    2. Variations options – Add variations manually so that only Size and respective Print Medium is on one row only. I ended up with 16 separate rows. When testing in Preview, everything worked correctly.

Now need to work out how to attach this Product page to my separate Portfolios.

    Hi there,

Sounds like you’ve managed to figure things quite nicely in the meantime ??

Just to make sure: Is there anything else you need help with?

    Yes please.
I’m trying to connect my product page to each of my portfolio (country) pages or attached to the country’s lightbox (when customer click’s a photo and opens lightbox) and wondered if this is possible? maybe using shortcode or categories? Or, does this have to be coded?

Hi there @nillamary – that would have to be custom coded, yes. If you’re in need of a developer, you can find one here:

Hi, many thanks for your quick response.
So there’s no other plugin or anyway possible to hook this up without hiring a developer?

Not that we’re aware of – the process flow is quite unique to your setup which means that off-the-shelf plugins wouldn’t typically cater for that (hence the “custom” nature thereof).
