My website will be selling my Images on various types of products in various sizes. I am having trouble with how it is displaying in the Shop. Each product has different sizing variations which I have entered into the Attributes Page. In the Product Page, I have entered various types of the products my Images can be purchased on, and also the various sizes they come in. But when viewed in the Shop, when I select one of the Products, all of the sizes for all of the products are showing, rather than just the sizing for that product only. How can I make it so that only the sizes for that product only come up, and the other sizes don’t show. Thanks you.

    Hi there!

Just to avoid confusion, I’m going to call the image the product, and the different things on which it’s printed the media. So this would mean that you have two attributes for the product: size and media.

Right now it sounds like you’re seeing variations for all possible combinations of both attributes, instead of only certain sizes for certain media. If you go to the Variations section in a product’s “Product Data” meta box, what variations do you see? Tons, or none?

If you see none, I’d add some as described here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/#manually-adding-a-variation

If you see tons, you may have previously clicked “Create variations from all attributes.” In that case, I’d delete the erroneous options, meaning the combinations of size and medium that shouldn’t exist.

    Hi, Thank you for responding.

That is what I have already done and it’s not working. On an Image (Product), I have added the two attributes (Product Type and Product Size) and then I manually added a few of each of the product types eg. Prints, Canvas, Metallic, that each have their own unique sizing values. Then I added a few size variations for each of these products, that only matched each product. (There was no selecting all variations and attribute combinations at all). Then when checking how it looks in the shop, all of the sizes from all of the products that I have manually entered against each product show up, I only want the corresponding size for a particular product to be showing, otherwise it is going to be very confusing for the customer to see all of the sizes in the list that can’t be used for the particular product they selected.

    Hi there!

It sounds like you may have variations setup with Any Size(or similar) which will show your product types along with all sizes. Instead, you’ll need to create variations with only the available sizes. For example, one variation might have attributes of Product Type – Prints, Size – 8×11. Another might be Product Type – Prints, Size – 14×20. With variations setup this way, only the available sizes will be displayed.

No i dont have all variations selected at all. I have done it correctly, by exactly what you have said. I have only entered a particular product with it’s specific size. I have 5 pages so far, & I am wondering if the programme just can’t handle this many pages, & that’s why it’s showing all of the sizes. I found if i only have a few products & their sizes entered & it only takes up 1 page, it does it correctly, only showing the size that relates only to the product i put it against, but after entering more pages, it jumps to showing all of the sizes. I was disappointed when i saw this, as i thought it was finally working.

    Hi there!

Without seeing an example I’m not entirely sure what is happening, but it sounds that you might be hitting the AJAX variation threshold limit.

To keep your site fast, after a certain number of variation combinations all are shown instead of just those available.

You can change this threshold by using something like

    https://iconicwp.com/blog/modify-ajax-variation-threshold/

I may be misunderstanding as I’m not entirely sure what is happening on your site, but if that’s the issue, try that.
