Hi, I have defined an attribute with name “Variation” and used that as a single variation criteria. The result leads that the first attribute in the list allways gets the “used for variation” ticked as well when saving and updating the product. If I set the attribute to something different than “Variation” it works. Using a different name is perfrectly fine, but I think it would help to get a warning or even block this term. Thanks, Mike

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I understand that on your site if an attribute with a name “Variation” is created – the “Used for variations” checkbox is automatically ticked after saving even if it was un-ticked:

I was not able to replicate this behaviour on my test site. I’ve created an attribute with “Variation” as a name and the checkbox was not ticked automatically.

I’ve tested the same with both local and global attributes.

As a first step, please check if you are using the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce.

If that doesn’t help – I’d suggest testing if this behaviour is happening due to a plugin/theme conflict:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    I hope this helps!

hi, many thanks. Actually this happened not on the Variation attribute, but on the first on the list. If I removed the first, it then ticked the second. It happend when I copied a product with existing attributes and variaions and then I started to change on the new product. However, when I do a fresh product, I cannot replicate it. Maybe a it was just a special glitch. Thanks anyway, Michael
