Dear Yoast staff and yoast community,
on the recent update I pushed the button appearing at the top, saying that Yoast now has a more intelligent way of archiving website data and ask “click here to get your website faster”.

    And I clicked!

After few days, I noticed that 404 pages do not land anymore on the website as before, with a personalized 404 page, but a white page shows with a couple of lines in the middle saying that that page does not exist.

I didn’t change any setting to the website about the 404 page inside YOast area, or updated the theme recently and no complicated actions.

I think that clicking that button could have cause this issue, never had before.

there’s only a recharge button in that page. The UX was much better before, there was the search button saying “there’s no what you’re looking for, but search below in the bar”.

@seodance can you confirm you’re using the latest version of Yoast SEO for WordPress v14.0.4? Also, just to clarify on the issue, ever since you clicked on the indexables feature, the look of your 404 pages has changed?

Could you please provide us with a URL where we can check on this and if it compares to the settings you’ve set under the Yoast SEO (sidebar) > Search Appearance > Archive Tab > Special Pages > 404 pages?
