Attendance Recording
-
Hi there,
I just have a question regarding the use of your plugin – Participants Database.
I am just starting out with a web-page and my hope is that I can use your plugin as a type of attendance recording tool.
The idea is that when I display the list form, it would list all of the names of the people in my group and have 2 check-boxes beside each of them. These check-boxes would be “Present” or “Absent”. I can them go down through each name on the list and select either of the check-boxes that applies to that person on the list. The result would then be stored in the participants database. The long-term plan would then be that I could go to this form, select a date from a drop-down and the names list would appear for that date. I would then complete the attendance check for each person on the list and submit for that date. The database would then store all of the data for each weekly attendance taken.I have some web development experience with just putting together websites that use general plugins but I dont know how to code this function and can not find any other plugin that will do the same thing. I have been looking at Participants Database and from reading your documentation it looks like it is very adaptable to individual needs. I understand how to use the plugin for general use but dont understand too much on how I can complete my intended use for the plugin. Is there a way that each person listed can have multiple entries for the same form item. For example, can someone be recorded as present for not just one date but for many throughout a year. How would I list each person from the list with the check-boxes beside there names instead of listed just one name field that is empty? Also is there a way that I can backup the database within a standard myphpadmin interface?
I am prepared to purchase an add-on for the plugin if you think this is the way to go with my idea.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
