Attachments not coming through on submissions

    Hi Michael, Susan thought I should pass this question along to you.

    When a person submits a badge and uploads an attachment it does not show to the approver of the badge that any attachment exists. When I go to submissions, I can see their submission and anything they wrote in the text box but it says attachments are empty?

    I believe you still have admin access to our site from last time.

    I did an example for you- under submissions its the one from pike0078 for the huddle leader badge. I attached a word doc and its not showing.

    Are you able to verify that the submitted doc file is in the media library? It’s possible the attachment didn’t get that far due to rejection by WordPress as a whole.

    HI Michael, I looked in the library and there are several attachments and those seemed to have all worked and went though on the submissions. However the ones having a problem and that I did are not showing up in the library. Is there a setting that I did wrong that are making some show up in the library and some now show up in the library?

    Any setting related to that would be from WordPress core itself, not some setting that BadgeOS has specifically.

    Can you try uploading directly via the media library in the admin and see if it works at that point? May help determine some things.

    OK I tried that and I couldn’t manually upload directly to the library either, however in doing so and getting an error I noticed that everything that had worked was either jpeg, pdf etc. I was trying to upload a word doc as well as all the other ones that messed up were all word. I didn’t realize you couldn’t do word, so I will just let everyone know to covert to PDF before uploading and that should fix it. thanks!

    According to the link I pasted above, .doc files should work, but apparently there’s something going on with your site that either changed that, or the link is inaccurate.

    Regardless, sounds like we know it’s a bigger issue beyond just BadgeOS, and hopefully the PDF idea works out for you.
