• This is a bit weird.

It occurs when using ‘postie’ emailed content. I think it’s something to do with the image arriving in the post as an attachment

    If you go here: NSFW:

    [ redundant link removed ]

There is my test text and image – perfect.

Look below and there’s a number of images in boxes that link to ‘related content’. [The contextual posts plugin]

Now click on the main image.

It opens a fresh page but look at all the related content images – they’ve all changed to the test image.

I love the contextual posts feature though I’ve spotted I can switch it off for ‘attachments’ maybe that’s what I need to do? It would only affect a small amount of posts made via a phone, usually by me when drunk [I’d wake up the next day and have to delete them anyway]

NSFW – don’t panic, it’s adult content, just click what I’ve mentioned

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I think it is the way attachments work in WordPress which is different from a regular post and the plugin gets confused. I’m going to take a look at this to see if anything can be fixed.

Is it just the incorrect images that is the issue or everything else as well?

Everything else is great – it’s just the incorrect images

Side note: Thanks for labeling the link NSFW but next time do that and just use the link field.

I think it is worth turning this off on attachments while I run tests and hopefully figure this out.

I found a fix for this. I will be releasing a new version of the plugin this week which will include the fix.

I updated to the latest version and did a test post but the problem remains

Have you cleared the cache as well if you had this enabled?

    Thread Starter sywwow

    (@sywwow)

Yes I cleared the cache using the SG [Hosting company] Clear cache facility.
I also cleared the cach [firefox] on the pc.
I just tried on two other PCs and the same result

    (@ajay)

Do you have the cache enabled in Contextual Related Posts – You can resave the settings page of the plugin to clean the cache.

    Thread Starter sywwow

    (@sywwow)

I tried both settings [switched them on]

Cache posts only & Cache HTML output

No difference [this is still using the test post “2”]

    Plugin Author Ajay

    (@ajay)

Two last things to try is to keep both caches off and secondly, reset the plugin settings and then reconfigure this.

Else I have to admit I’m not sure what could be the solution as I can’t replicate this across two different set of installs.

Ok, what I’ve done is switched off CRP for attachments – this is not a problem, plus most people would not click on the image anyway.
Maybe it’s related to my theme [Ocean].
    CRP is a great plug-in
