    Hi guys,

I’m getting lots of errors and messages from google search console relating to attachment url errors on isscreenprinters.com. I could really use some help on this. I know i’m using the free version but if you have the time to help a small guy like me that would be beneficial. I work on this site remotely for my client and I want them to utilize your plugins. Just need to get over this hurdle so I can justify it.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Hello?

@mykkal Can you please let us know what the specific errors you are receiving in Google Search Console are?

Regarding attachment URLs, in most cases the setting for SEO>Search Appearance>Media for ‘Redirect attachment URLs to the attachment itself?’ should be set to ‘Yes’. By default, WordPress will create attachment pages for media that you upload, which is essentially a page with only the content of the image. This is viewed by many search engines as being thin content.
    ?
?Unless you have a specific reason to set it otherwise, we would recommend ensuring that the attachment URL redirect setting is set to redirect to the attachment. To set attachment URLs to redirect to the attachment itself you would need to perform the following actions:

In WordPress go to SEO>Search Appearance>Media
Set ‘Redirect attachment URLs to the attachment itself?’ to Yes
      Click ‘Save Changes’

?We also have more information on this in the following article: https://yoast.com/media-attachment-urls/

I’m sorry I didn’t answer your reply in full. I’m not really seeing the thin content 404s anymore. So I’m just waiting to see if the search ranking increases.

hi there so after a few weeks i see a slight climb in seo ranking however in checking my sitemap I still see the attachment urls there. Is this normal? Even with a plugin that is supposed to be purging my attachment urls from the google index.

Please help me understand. I’m trying to avoid duplicates, thin content, and other bad seo practices
