Attachment index ‘bug’

    So my site was affected by this infamous bug from a few months back.

    I have applied the ‘Search Index Purge plugin’ since months ago.

    Yet still right now my main sitemap shows the attachment-sitemap.xml with 100’s of URL’s in there.

    Is this normal?

    Yes, this is normal to have the attachment-sitemap.xml with the attachment URLs in it. After installing the index purge plugin a static XML sitemap, containing all the attachment URLs on a given site will be created. The post modified date for each of those URLs is the activation date and time of the plugin. We have additional information on this here: https://yoast.com/media-attachment-urls/

    No further reply, setting to resolved. Please continue to keep the Search Index Purge plugin installed for at least 6 months after installation and activation.
