Attachment details panel for featured image on MOBILE VIEW not visible?

  • As title says I can’t find attachment details panel when adding featured image on MOBILE VIEW in gutenberg when writing new post. I need to enter some details like caption, alt text or edit image before set it as featured image.

    This is a screenshot from mobile view and as you can see no sign of attachment details at all:

    How can this be fixed? The only alternative is to go to media library after publishing post and find there that same image and edit it, but that’s not good workflow at all.

    Why should it be fixed? The process of selecting a featured image doesn’t use that data anyway. All selecting a featured image does is associate the attachment’s ID with the post.

    If the attachment details were incorrect and were in need of updating, the media library is the proper place to do this. It could be argued the details sidebar doesn’t even belong on the desktop view. Users can be confused about what the fields are for. Some think changes here only affect the image’s instance in the current post while in fact they affect the attachment’s core data.

    In a mobile view, the sidebar would appear way down at the bottom of the page. Some users will not realize its there. Even so, it would involve a lot of scrolling to see the sidebar. It’s not very practical.

    I realize the sidebar can provide useful information while selecting an image. For that purpose a mobile bottom/sidebar fails to provide a good UX. Better would be a floating info box with no editable fields that appears on touch & hold. We don’t even have this currently, but it’d be a better solution than providing a bottom/sidebar IMO.

    How to hide attachment detail in the media selection popup?

    when you want to change the image of a product or you want to add an image to the gallery of a product, a popup will shown and you can select the image. when you select the image some detail about the image are shown on the popup and it tooks a big space, so the images grid colums become less.

    i dont need the attachent detail section. i need more space to select the media. please help me to hide the space which i show with red lines.

    description about the second image:it’s a screen shot from a mobile phone. since the screen is small and the detail part does’t fit so the detail part will become hidden responsively. but the space still is taken. i think it’s a bug. if the bug fixes then my problem will be solved too.
